Today, is, of course, one of the most important days of the year. (No, not because it's World Health Day or the anniversary of the Battle of Shiloh or the day that the genocide really got underway in Rwanda in 1994.)On this day in 1859, Walter Camp, the man who did more to establish our greatest modern sport than anyone else, was born. The Father of American Football created most of the rules, including creating the safety and setting up the arrangement of the offensive line.
Let's pause to remember such a great American hero.
