White Dog admitted that there are definite advantages to being friends with a classically trained chef. Richard, chef supreme, came over and prepared a most fantastic four-course meal in our kitchen (where we often struggle to turn out the most elementary peasant food). First, White Dog swooned over the sea bass wrapped in potato shavings with a tomato caper gastrique. But her "best of" label soon switched to the chile rubbed baby lamb chops served with mushroom risotto, golden baby beets, and a grilled tomato chutney of Richard's invention. White Dog loved Richard especially when he snuck an extra rib to the already over-served puppy. Even the salad course of grilled peaches on field greens with bleu cheese crostini demanded White Dog's attention. By the time the thyme infused panna cotta was served White Dog was stretched out on the couch and "forced" herself to lift her head in order to be hand-fed a taste from Steve. Food...music...good friends...splendid!
