White Dog shares my compassion for struggling people who just can seem to get a break--and today our news was full of them. Rob who is desperately job hunting received notice that his ex-employer (of 1 week) is challenging his unemployment claim. Christine, Tim, Tyler , and Baby Becoming must move in with Christine's parents because they can't make ends meet. This means that Dane, their dog, must find a new home. It also means Jesse will have to scramble to find temporary renters to take over her place until it finally sells (there is no way she can afford two mortgages!) My sister, Nancy, in Illinois, lost her job. White Dog's Uncle Gordon (with whom she travelled to his hometown of Naravisa when she was a pup) must have surgery for skin cancer. All deserve better. White Dog and I feel a little guilty for our fortune...and frustrated that we can't save the others. We would be very beneficent Powerball winners!
