Mechta and Afalou: Do they and the so-called "Mechtoids" constitute a type with the "Cro-Magnon"?

The “Mechta” have been characterized as African based “Cro-Magnon types”. Obviously enough morph-metric distinctions have been observed between the “Mechta” and the “Cro-Magnon” specimens, so as to assign them in distinct but related groups; however, does the “Mechta”, and ultimately “Cro-Magnon”, really represent a bio-anthropological “type”?
