White Dog stood outside the bedroom window at 2am and howled like a coyote. The haunting sound woke even Steve who is a heavy sleeper. He jumped from bed to see what the matter was and tried coaxing White Dog back to bed. Ignoring him (and our neighbor's need for sleep) she moved to the far end of the yard, "sang" a few more verses then came to bed and slept as though this was her usual practice.
