White Dog is exhausted after spending the entire afternoon outdoors in the glorious autumn air. Before Wyatt and guests arrived at the Wilderness for his graduation picnic, White Dog and Steve hiked trails, sniffed around pinon, and explored the scrub.

During the party, she entertained the small children by playing and digging with them. Her best social behavior charmed even the puckish adults.

Later, White Dog slipped away with Steve for a solitary moment, outside the chatter.

As we left, she remembered to congratulate the guest of honor--licking Wyatt's hand and resting gently against him.
