INDUSTRY CALLS FOR TOUGHER ENFORCEMENT MEASURES (AGAIN)


ZDNews reports that an alliance of software providers calling itself the Business Software Alliance is demaning that Congress reform the existing copyright law. It is particularly keen to target those who exchange unauthorised copies of software through the peer-to-peer system. The group criticise the DMCA as it feels that court decisions limiting its scope have made the Act an "impediment to enforcement".



The IPKat doesn't see why those who call for reforms minimising IP are described as Communists (see post below) while those who call for reforms strengthening IP are seen by the industry as having a right to those reforms.
