CAREFUL HOW YOU CHOOSE THAT NAME
Branding experts often comment on how negligent or downright reckless some businesses are when choosing brand names for their products. The same problems however exist with TV programmes to, it seems. Ananova reports today that "Alles Nur Aus Liebe", a German soap opera, has had to change its name after broadcasters realised that its initial letters spelt out the word ANAL. TV channel Sat 1 (a channel much beloved by Community trade mark fans) thought there was no problem when they first called the soap "Alles Nur Aus Liebe", which roughly translates as "Everything for Love". German viewers, however, often shorten the names of their favourite soaps, whch gave the resulting acronym ANAL. The new series will now be broadcast under the less offensive name "Verliebt in Berlin", meaning In Love in Berlin.
