Singapore sports cannot excel if the sportsmen and athletes cannot put
food on the table. Period. Don’t ever think of getting world class
athletes for free.
 
In many countries, the sports champions are paid handsomely, financially
very well rewarded for sports excellence. Singapore’s table tennis team
did well because the foreign players are paid to play. For the other
sports, if they did
